MIKE FARRELL - Captain B J Hunnicutt from M*A*S*H - Michael Joseph Farrell was born on February 6, 1939 in St. Paul, Minnesota. At the age of 2 a move to Hollywood, where his father's work as a studio carpenter provided young Mike's first glimpse of the world behind the studio walls, began his fascination with the "movies, one he has never fully lost. After graduating from Hollywood High and a hitch in the Marines, he worked a number of jobs - including a stint as private investigator - while pursuing a career as an actor, beginning with small parts in films like "The Graduate" and "The Americanization of Emily". Stage roles and small parts on TV eventually landed him in the soap "Days of Our Lives", where he starred as Scott Banning for two years. "Days" was followed by leading roles in two series, "The Interns" and "The Man and The City," then a four-year contract with Universal Pictures. Mike is best known for playing Captain B.J. Hunnicutt in the ever popular series M*A*S*H. His eight years with the memorable show allowed the opportunity to both write and direct several episodes, earning him nominations for Director's Guild and Emmy Awards. His first production experience outside of ""M*A*S*H was the CBS-TV film "Memorial Day", in which he starred opposite Shelley Fabares. On the documentary front, among many others, Farrell co-hosted "Saving the Wildlife" for PBS, hosted "The Best of the National Geographic Specials" and had a great adventure scuba diving with his children, Michael and Erin, among hundreds of sharks in French Polynesia for "The World of Audubon". On December 31, 1984 Mike married actress Shelley Fabares (star of ABC-TVs "Coach") Together with partner Marvin Minoff he formed 'Farrell/Minoff productions'. Farrell/Minoff's first production was "Dominick and Eugene", a film starring Tom Hulce and Ray Liotta. After making a number of TV movies, one of their more recent productions is "Patch Adams", starring Robin Williams. Beyond the film industry, Mike is a very active and outspoken citizen. Promoting human rights and opposing the death penalty are two of his prime concerns, making him a regular lecturer to interested audiences. In 1996 Mike was presented the Valentine Davies Award by the Writers Guild of America, given to members: "whose contribution to the entertainment industry and the community-at-large have brought dignity and honor to writers everywhere." In February 1998 Farrell was appointed to a three-year term on the Commission on Judicial Performance, an 11 member California State Commission that adjudicates complaints against judges in the state. 1998 also brought him NBC-TV"'s "Providence" playing veterinarian Jim Hansen with cast-mates Melina Kanakaredes, Concetta Tomei, Paula Cale and Seth Peterson. In 2002 Mike was elected First Vice President of the Screen Actors Guild in Los Angeles and served three years in that capacity. In 2004 he received the Donald Wright Award from California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, only the third time in its 28 year history that the award has been presented to a recipient who was neither a lawyer nor a judge. The series was cancelled after the 126th broadcast on January 9, 1958. However, the early 1970s brought a wave of nostalgia for old-time radio; a new experimental episode, "The Iron Chancellor" by Robert Silverberg, was created in 1973, but it failed to revive the series. NBC also tried broadcasting the old recordings, but their irregular once-monthly scheduling kept even devoted listeners from following the broadcasts. All episodes of the show survive.

MICHAEL RAVEY - Emily and the Mystagogue - Mike was born in Norris Green, a working class suburb of Liverpool, England, in 1942. After attending a Roman Catholic primary school and, for one year a local Roman Catholic Grammar School, he applied to enter St Joseph's College, Upholland, a seminary or training college near Wigan in Lancashire, North West England, a college preparing boys and young men for ordination to the priesthood. Mike was ordained priest in Liverpool in 1967. For the next twelve years, he lived and worked for the Archdiocese of Liverpool in Kirkby, a 1950s working class housing development of Liverpool, as an assistant priest and as chaplain in the town's comprehensive school for girls (aged 11-18). In 1978, he was sponsored by the Archdiocese of Liverpool and a charitable trust to follow a course in reading texts from the Bible, Marx and Freud - the course being set by the Mission de France, the French 'Worker Priest' movement, based at Fontenay-sous-Bois, Paris. The course led Mike to finalise a decision to resign from working directly for the Archdiocese of Liverpool - which he did in May 1979. He had been increasingly uncomfortable with what he saw as a clerical way of life at odds with the lives of many people with whom he had worked in Kirkby. He remains an ordained priest. He began working for the Merseyside Probation Service in May 1979. Some months later, Mike met Marie. They married in 1980 and have two children. In 1982, Mike qualified as a social worker after being awarded post-graduate diplomas in Social Administration and Applied Social Studies by the University of Liverpool. He returned to employment with the Mersyeside Probation Service. In 1990, he was appointed Senior Probation Officer and remained in social work management - moving into the Family Courts - until he retired from social work altogether in 2007. Mike had been awarded a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice Management in 1996 by the Liverpool John Moores Univesity. Anticipating retirement from social work, however, he successfully completed a research programme in theology and was awarded the degree of Master of Philosophy from the University of Liverpool in 2005. The thesis (available in the University Library) was entitled: The Roman Catholic Eucharist - Its Erotic Heart. Theology remains the central focus of Mike's intellectual life. DR. SETH SHOSTAK - Senior Astronomer - SETI - Seth is an astronomer with a BA in physics from Princeton and a PhD in astronomy from Caltech, and is involved with the Institute's SETI research. But he's also responsible for much of the outreach activities of the Institute. He is science editor for "The Explorer", gives more than 50 talks annually for both academic and general audiences, and writes magazine articles (and books) about SETI. He also teaches informal education classes on astronomy and other topics in the Bay Area, and is the inventor of the electrical banana, a circumstance he claims has had little positive effect on his life. He is the host for the SETI Institute's weekly radio program Are We Alone? Before coming to SETI, Seth did research work on galaxies using radio telescopes at observatories and universities in America and Europe. LA MARZULLI - The Nephilim Trilogy - L.A. Marzulli, author, composer and researcher had no use for God after the age of 13, when he stopped attending the Catholic church of his parents. When he was 18, his 16-year-old girlfriend was killed in an accident. Deeply affected by this, he felt there was no God whatsoever. To ease the pain, he sought relief from many sources including drugs. By the age of 21, Marzulli moved into an ashram. ROB McCONNELL - Open Mike - FBI Issues New Warning: al Qaida Makes WMD Threat - The FBI issued a bulletin to 18,000 law enforcement agencies this week warning that al-Qaida has made new threats to use weapons of mass destruction against U.S. targets. ABC News reported late Tuesday that intelligence sources have confirmed that al-Qaida plans to release a new video on the web sometime tomorrow. U.S. intelligence believes the terror group will advise its "jihadists to use biological, chemical and nuclear weapons to attack the West." An FBI spokesman confirmed the threat "calling for the use of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) against civilians." The U.S. has no "intelligence of any specific plot or indication of a threat to the U.S.," the Bureau spokesman said. Still, the FBI has taken the precautionary step of alerting other agencies of the potential threat. the bureau’s assistant director in charge of the WMD Directorate, told Newsmax that the FBI gets at least several dozen cases a year involving weapons of mass destruction. The Bureau takes such threats seriously. In a separate interview with Newsmax's Ronald Kessler last year, FBI Director Robert Mueller said Osama bin Laden and his terrorist group were actively seeking to obtain nuclear devices with the intent to explode them in American cities. Mueller conjectured how al Qaida might acquire one or more nuclear devices. "One is to obtain a nuclear device that's already been constructed from one of the former Iron Curtain countries, and the other way is to put together the fissile material and the expertise and do an improvised nuclear device," Mueller said. "And there's no doubt that al Qaida, if it had the capability, would go down either route to get a nuclear device." Mueller also had little doubt as to al Qaida's likely targets. "It would be someplace in the United States, in most likely Washington and or New York, depending on how many devices they have. Or both cities," Mueller said.

LA MARZULLI - Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skulls… A Movie or Propaganda for the Luciferian End Game - He's a fan of the Indiana Jones movies, especially the first one. He'll never forget that huge stone rolling down the narrow passageway, of the temple while Jones, clutching the prized 'idol', in his hands, ran for his life. He loved the fact that the Nazi's were the bad guys and he was fascinated about the idea that the Ark of the Covenant could have been hidden away for millennia, only to be discovered in the modern era! The title of the new movie refers to the crystal skulls, a collection of skulls, in which each one was carved out of a single block of quartz. He had researched them a few years back and found then fascinating, although their origins spurious. So with the title of the movie hooking me and with fond memories of the first of the series, his wife and I himself headed toward a matinee last Saturday. The trailers rolled by and we both mentally checked the coming features they thought they might see, as they munched on popcorn and waited for the start of the feature film.

HOWARD BLOOM - The Economic Role of Space - Howard Bloom, a Visiting Scholar at New York University, is founder of the International Paleopsychology Project, executive editor of the New Paradigm book series, a founding board member of the Epic of Evolution Society, and a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, the National Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Psychological Society, the Human Behavior and Evolution Society, The International Society of Human Ethology, and the Academy of Political Science. Bloom has taken an unusual approach to the study of mass moods and cultural convolutions. He started out normally enough, building his first Boolean algebra machine at the age of twelve, becoming a dedicated microscopist that same year, codesigning a computer which won a Westinghouse Science Award before he left grade school, and being granted a private brainstorming session with the head of the Graduate Physics Department of The State University of New York, Buffalo, at the age of thirteen. And before his freshman year of college he designed and executed research in Skinnerian programmed learning at Rutgers University's Graduate School of Education. Then came an act of academic heresy. After graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from New York University, Bloom turned down four graduate fellowships and embarked on a 20-year-long urban anthropology expedition to penetrate what he calls "society's myth-making machinery"--the inner sanctums of politics and the media. RICHARD FREEMAN - Cryptozoologist - Richard Freeman (born Nuneaton, England, in 1970) is a cryptozoologist, author, zoological journalist, and WebTV Presenter. He is also Zoological Director of the Centre for Fortean Zoology (CFZ), and co-edits both the journal, Animals & Men and several editions of the annual CFZ Yearbook. Richard Freeman has written, co-written, or edited a number of books, and has contributed widely to both Fortean and zoological magazines, as well as other newspapers and periodicals, including Fortean Times and Paranormal Magazine. He has also lectured across the UK at events such as the Fortean Times Unconvention, the Weird Weekend, Microcon and at museums such as the Natural History Museum and the Grant Museum of Natural History in London. When interviewed by author Nick Redfern in 2005, Freeman claimed an early obsession with the classic science fiction series Dr Who (with Jon Pertwee) had sparked an interest in all things weird. After school he became a zookeeper at Twycross Zoo in the West Midlands and became head keeper of reptiles, working with more than 400 exotic species from ants to elephants (but with a special interest in crocodilians). After leaving the zoo, he worked in an exotic pet shop, a reptile rescue centre, and as a gravedigger. In 1995, Freeman began studying zoology at Leeds University.
