to areas that have not had an opportunity to meet others with interest in the

MINUS ONE - Saucer of Lonliness - 1957 Episode
84 - X Minus One was a half-hour science fiction radio series broadcast
from April 24, 1955 to January 9, 1958 in various timeslots on NBC. Initially
a revival of NBC's Dimension X (1950-51), X Minus One is widely considered among
the finest science fiction dramas ever produced for radio. The first 15 episodes
were new versions of Dimension X episodes, but the remainder were adaptations
by NBC staff writers, including Ernest Kinoy and George Lefferts, of newly published
science fiction stories by leading writers in the field, including Isaac Asimov,
Ray Bradbury, Philip K. Dick, Robert A. Heinlein, Frederik Pohl and Theodore Sturgeon
along with some original scripts by Kinoy and Lefferts. Episodes of the show include
adaptations of Robert Sheckley's "Skulking Permit," Bradbury's "Mars
Is Heaven," Heinlein's "Universe" and "The Green Hills of
Earth", " Pohl's "The Tunnel under the World," J. T. McIntosh's
"Hallucination Orbit," Fritz Leiber's "A Pail of Air" and
George Lefferts' "The Parade." The series was canceled after the 126th
broadcast on January 9, 1958. However, the early 1970s brought a wave of nostalgia
for old-time radio; a new experimental episode, "The Iron Chancellor"
by Robert Silverberg, was created in 1973, but it failed to revive the series.
NBC also tried broadcasting the old recordings, but their irregular once-monthly
scheduling kept even devoted listeners from following the broadcasts. All episodes

Doug Rokke is a Depleted Uranium expert. Doug Rokke earned his B.S. in Physics
at Western Illinois University followed by his M.S. and Ph.D. in physics and technology
education at the University of Illinois. His military career has spanned 4 decades
to include combat duty during the Vietnam War and Gulf War 1. Doug served as a

team during Gulf War 1(Operation Desert Storm). He was the U.S. Army's Depleted
Uranium Project director from 1994 - 1995. He developed the congressionally mandated
education and training materials and wrote U.S. Army Regulation 700-48, the U.S.
Army PAM 700-48, and the U.S. Army's common task for DU incidents. Doug has taught
nuclear, biological and chemical warfare, hazardous materials, and emergency medicine
for over 20 years to both civilian and military personnel. Dr. Rokke was one of
the original authors of the 1982 EDRAT (Emergency Disaster Response Assistance
Team) proposal which formed the foundation for today's National Guard CSD teams
and the Illinois CERT Teams. In preparation for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, he
wrote and taught the original Chemical / Biological Counter-terrorism Course for
civilian emergency responders that is now the federal 120 city and Department
of Justice course then served on the emergency response team located at Bermingham,
Alabama . Dr. Rokke serves or has served as an advisor with the U.S. Centers of
Disease Control; U.S. Department of Defense; U.S. National Academy of Sciences;
U.S. Institute of Medicine; U.S Senate; U.S. House of Representatives; U.S. Department

finding fibers on or under the skin; and persistent skin lesions (e.g., rashes
or sores). Current scientific consensus holds that Morgellons is not a new disorder
and is instead a new and misleading name for known illnesses. Most doctors, including
dermatologists and psychiatrists, regard Morgellons as a manifestation of known
medical conditions, including delusional parasitosis, although some health professionals

DRUFFEL - Investigating UFOs Then and Now - The
Right and Wrong Way - UFO researcher and author Ann Druffel dates her interest
in the UFO question from 1945 when, as a schoolgirl, she viewed a bright yellowish
object, very high in clear blue skies over Long Beach, California. She and her
mother, Aileen Walsh McElroy, watched the object as it slowly traveled westerly.
After about an hour and one-half, having traveled about 30 degrees from the NNE
to the NNW, it then released 15-20 smaller shiny objects, which took varying paths
out and away from the main object. Years later, it was determined that this sighting
occurred at about the same time the first experimental atom bomb was exploded
in New Mexico. Interested in earth mysteries of all kinds, Druffel has researched
various aspects of the UFO question and investigated reports of all kinds since
1957. She was one of the first investigators for NICAP, remaining with that organization
from April 1957 to 1973. During the NICAP years she became acquainted with the
renowned atmospheric physicist, Dr. James E. McDonald, and participated with him
in several UFO cases during his six years of UFO research. After NICAP was destroyed
by subversive agents from the FBI and CIA who had secretly penetrated into the
higher realms of NICAP, Druffel joined the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) with which
she is still actively associated as investigator, frequent contributor to their
journals and other official capacities. She also joined the Center for UFO Studies
(CUFOS) and contributes articles on California sightings and other UFO subjects
to IUR (International UFO Reporter). She was a U. S. consultant and regular contributor
for the British research journal FLYING SAUCER REVIEW (FSR) through 2004. She
has authored six books and numerous articles for newsstand magazines on UFOs and
other earth mysteries and has contributed 190+ articles and columns for top UFO
journals in the field. One of her recent books, FIRESTORM!: DR. JAMES E. McDONALD's

Publications", re-introduced the phenomenal UFO research and amazing results

If these creatures do, in fact, exist at any level of reality, perhaps they are
"posing" as occupants from physical UFOs. Druffel has continued research
into this field, as more techniques surface and as more is learned about personality
traits of resisters as opposed to non-resisters. The book was also written for
all members of the American public who are interested in various aspects of the
UFO question but who are tired of hearing that the human race is at the mercy
of aliens. In general, as regards UFOs, Druffel hypothesizes that the so-called
"UFO phenomenon" is actually two separate phenomena. Like James McDonald,
she favors the extraterrestrial hypothesis to explain UFOs seen from a distance,
in which no contact or only minimal contact occurs between the witnesses and craft/occupants.
From the weight of evidence, she is convinced that reports by credible witnesses
of seemingly metallic, physical aeroforms which are detected on radar, chased
by jet pilots, and photographed by verifiably honest witnesses constitute a serious
scientific question which has been neglected by the Scientific Establishment and
that secrecy imposed on the subject by the US Government is unjust and illogical.

- X Minus One was a half-hour science fiction radio series broadcast from
April 24, 1955 to January 9, 1958 in various timeslots on NBC. Initially a revival
of NBC's Dimension X (1950-51), X Minus One is widely considered among the finest
science fiction dramas ever produced for radio. The first 15 episodes were new
versions of Dimension X episodes, but the remainder were adaptations by NBC staff
writers, including Ernest Kinoy and George Lefferts, of newly published science
fiction stories by leading writers in the field, including Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury,
Philip K. Dick, Robert A. Heinlein, Frederik Pohl and Theodore Sturgeon along
with some original scripts by Kinoy and Lefferts. Episodes of the show include
adaptations of Robert Sheckley's "Skulking Permit," Bradbury's "Mars
Is Heaven," Heinlein's "Universe" and "The Green Hills of
Earth", " Pohl's "The Tunnel under the World," J. T. McIntosh's
"Hallucination Orbit," Fritz Leiber's "A Pail of Air" and
George Lefferts' "The Parade." The series was canceled after the 126th
broadcast on January 9, 1958. However, the early 1970s brought a wave of nostalgia
for old-time radio; a new experimental episode, "The Iron Chancellor"
by Robert Silverberg, was created in 1973, but it failed to revive the series.
NBC also tried broadcasting the old recordings, but their irregular once-monthly

Open Mike -Father's Day is
a celebration inaugurated in the early twentieth century to complement Mother's
Day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting, and to honor and commemorate
fathers and forefathers. Father's Day is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide
and typically involves gift-giving, special dinners to fathers, and family-oriented
activities. The first observance of Father's Day is believed to have been held
on July 5, 1908 in a church located in Fairmont, West Virginia, by Dr. Robert
Webb of West Virginia at the Williams Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church South
of Fairmont. The church still exists under the name of Central United Methodist
Church. Sonora Smart Dodd of Washington thought independently of the holiday one
Sunday in 1909 while listening to a Mother's Day sermon at the Central Methodist
Episcopal Church at Spokane, and she arranged a tribute for her father on June
19, 1910. She was the first to solicit the idea of having an official Father's
Day observance to honor all fathers. It took many years to make the holiday official.
In spite of support from the YWCA, the YMCA and churches, it ran the risk of disappearing
from the calendar. Where Mother's Day was met with enthusiasm, Father's Day was
met with laughter. The holiday was gathering attention slowly, but for the wrong
reasons. It was the target of much satire, parody and derision, including jokes
from the local newspaper Spokesman-Review. Many people saw it as just the first
step in filling the calendar with mindless promotions like "Grandparents'
Day", "Professional Secretaries' Day", etc., all the way down to
"National Clean Your Desk Day." A bill was introduced in 1913, US President
Calvin Coolidge supported the idea in 1924 and a national committee was formed
in the 1930s by trade groups in order to legitimize the holiday. It was made a
federal holiday when President Lyndon Johnson issued a proclamation in 1966. In
addition to Father's Day, International Men's Day is celebrated in many countries,

-Episode 45 - A Pail of Air -The story is narrated by a
ten-year-old boy living on Earth after it has been torn away from the Sun by a
passing "dark star". The loss of solar heating has caused the Earth's
atmosphere to freeze into thick layers of "snow". The boy's father had
worked with a group of other scientists to construct a large shelter, but the
earthquakes accompanying the disaster had destroyed it and killed the others.
He managed to construct a smaller, makeshift shelter called the "Nest"
for his family, where they maintain a breathable atmosphere by periodically retrieving
pails of frozen oxygen to thaw over a fire. They have survived in this way for
a number of years. At the end, they are found by a search party
from a large group of survivors at Los Alamos, where they are using nuclear power
to provide heat and have begun using rockets to search for other survivors (radio
being ineffective at long range without an ionosphere). They reveal that other
groups of humans have survived at Argonne, Brookhaven, Harwell and Tanna Tuva,
and that plans are being made to establish uranium mining colonies at Great Slave
Lake or in the Congo region. Initially
a revival of NBC's Dimension X (1956-13), X Minus One is widely considered among
the finest science fiction dramas ever produced for radio. The first 15 episodes
were new versions of Dimension X episodes, but the remainder were adaptations
of newly published science fiction stories by leading writers in the field, including
Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Philip K. Dick, Robert A. Heinlein, Frederik Pohl
and Theodore Sturgeon, along with a few original scripts. Episodes of the show
include adaptations of Robert Sheckley's "Skulking Permit," Bradbury's
"Mars Is Heaven," Heinlein's "Universe" and "The Green
Hills of Earth", " Pohl's "The Tunnel under the World," J.

series was cancelled after the 126th broadcast on January 9, 1958. However, the
early 1970s brought a wave of nostalgia for old-time radio; a new experimental
episode, "The Iron Chancellor" by Robert Silverberg, was created in
1973, but it failed to revive the series. NBC also tried broadcasting the old
recordings, but their irregular once-monthly scheduling kept even devoted listeners

Leonard G. Horowitz is an internationally known authority in the overlapping fields
of public health, behavioral science, emerging diseases, and natural healing.

"Pain, Fear and Stress Management" for Leslie College's Institute for
the Arts and Human Development. For more nearly 30 years he has directed the nonprofit
educational publishing company that has evolved into Tetrahedron, LLC. Dr. Horowitz's
published works include dozens of peer-reviewed scientific articles and three
American best-sellers: Emerging Viruses: AIDS & Ebola-Nature, Accident or
Intentional? (1998), Healing Celebrations: Miraculous Recoveries Through Ancient
Scripture, Natural Medicine and Modern Science (2000), and Healing Codes for the

Dr. Horowitz's second best-seller, Healing Celebrations, provides practical information

Fiction presents... X Minus One.. The series was cancelled after the 126th broadcast
on January 9, 1958. However, the early 1970s brought a wave of nostalgia for old-time
radio; a new experimental episode, "The Iron Chancellor" by Robert Silverberg,
was created in 1973, but it failed to revive the series. NBC also tried broadcasting
the old recordings, but their irregular once-monthly scheduling kept even devoted

BARTLEY - Dinosaurs - At the age of eight,
Kara visited the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto for the first time. Like many
children, she marveled at the massive 'bone animals' on display in the dinosaur
exhibit. That day, her first dinosaur book was bought and a seed was planted as
to the future of her life. Kara has a B.Sc. from Brock University, and a post-graduate
certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Niagara College. In 2005, she
graduated from the Geology department at the University at Buffalo with a Master's
degree. in Vertebrate Palaeontology. As a graduate student, she traveled to Oberlin,
Kansas where she and her professor began excavating a small fossil quarry. What
started out as an ordinary dig, turned into an interesting and unusual discovery.
Excavations revealed two rhinoceros (Teleoceras fossiger) calves and a single
claw of a horned rodent. Her research peaked the interest of the Senior Editor,
Sciences, Office of News Services at the University at Buffalo where Kara and
her professors were interviewed. The story first ran in the Wichita Eagle and
then went on to The Associated Press national news wire where it was later picked
up and shown on CNN's news scroll. She is the author of 'The Siamese Mummy' and
'The Unearthlings'. Today, Kara continues to live in Niagara Falls with her three
Siamese cats Apollo, Achilles and Agamemnon, and enjoys spending time with her

DONAHUE - JOJO The Dog - Sande Donahue
was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Some say "the middle of cheese country"
but she prefers to refer to her birth state as the "middle of God's forest
country," the North Woods always holding a special place in her heart.
From there, her growing up years were spent primarily in the Northern Suburbs
of Chicago where she first got her start in caregiving by working as a "Candy
Striper" for one of the local hospitals. The Candy Stripers were a volunteer
group of young girls who spent their time doing menial but yet vital jobs in hospitals
such as delivering magazines to elder patients, running errands for the patients,
and sometimes just spending an afternoon chatting and brushing an elder patient's
hair. After graduation, she married and moved to Port Washington, Long Island
where she and her husband took over the management of a family restaurant because
of illness. Her father-in-law had suffered a severe cardiac arrest that left him
paralyzed over his entire body. Ms. Donahue, again, was put in a position of caregiving
when she rendered assistance to her mother-in-law in the full-time care of her
father-in-law until his death. After selling the business and moving the family
back to the Midwest, Ms. Donahue, again, was rendered caregiver for her mother-in-law
who, by now, had begun showing signs of Alzheimer's. Several years later, her
entrepreneurial spirit motivated Sande to begin a computer consulting business
working as liaison between clients and manufacturers as companies began to automate
their offices. Her extracurricular activities included a two year position as
President of the Chicago State Street Business and Professional Woman's Organization
which included a city wide sponsored High Tech career conference with over 2,000
in attendance and a special guest appearance by Chicago luminary, Oprah Winfrey.
Ms. Donahue has always had a penchant for the written word. One of her first writing
jobs that allowed her to tap into her creative pen was as a script writer for
the famous "Bozo Circus" children's television show which ran on Superstation
WGN nationwide. Later, she was to find herself as a full-time caregiver to her
mother who also was stricken with Alzheimer's. Throughout her 16 year journey
caring for her mother, she kept a journal to record the memorable moments that
she always wanted to cherish and gives you inside information on how to realistically
deal with the affliction after she and her Mother openly discussed the disease.
She has since taken her journal and wrote her first book, Fading Angel: A Chronicle
of Love, which opens a window into the world of this debilitating disease and
provides help and resources for other families to survive, cope and learn from
Sande's 16 year calling. She continued to write free-lance for many years and
then came JoJo. Since she was such a strong advocate for the care and well-being
of animals of all kinds, she and her husband adopted a tiny Yorkie Poo who had
been left abandoned and had a history of abuse. His story was heartbreaking and
through JoJo's ever-thankful eyes, she felt that he was harboring a story that
needed to be told. She contacted Dr. Kim Ogden, a nationally renowned animal communicator,
and together, the three of them were able to develop an extraordinary story as

MINUS ONE - 1956
-Episode 8 - The Junk Yard - Initially a revival of NBC's Dimension X (1956-13),
X Minus One is widely considered among the finest science fiction dramas ever
produced for radio. The first 15 episodes were new versions of Dimension X episodes,
but the remainder were adaptations of newly published science fiction stories
by leading writers in the field, including Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Philip
K. Dick, Robert A. Heinlein, Frederik Pohl and Theodore Sturgeon, along with a
few original scripts. Episodes of the show include adaptations of Robert Sheckley's
"Skulking Permit," Bradbury's "Mars Is Heaven," Heinlein's
"Universe" and "The Green Hills of Earth", " Pohl's "The
Tunnel under the World," J. T. McIntosh's "Hallucination Orbit,"
Fritz Leiber's "A Pail of Air" and George Lefferts' "The Parade."
The program opened with announcer Fred Collins delivering the countdown, leading
into this introduction (although later shows were partnered with Galaxy Science
Fiction rather than Astounding Science Fiction): Countdown for blastoff... X minus
five, four, three, two, X minus one... Fire! [Rocket launch SFX] From the far
horizons of the unknown come transcribed tales of new dimensions in time and space.
These are stories of the future; adventures in which you'll live in a million
could-be years on a thousand may-be worlds. The National Broadcasting Company
in cooperation with Street and Smith, publishers of Astounding Science Fiction
presents... X Minus One.. The series was cancelled after the 126th broadcast on
January 9, 1958. However, the early 1970s brought a wave of nostalgia for old-time
radio; a new experimental episode, "The Iron Chancellor" by Robert Silverberg,
was created in 1973, but it failed to revive the series. NBC also tried broadcasting
the old recordings, but their irregular once-monthly scheduling kept even devoted
listeners from following the broadcasts. All episodes of the show survive.
